At 6:30 AM the helicopter takes off from Kathmandu. The flight to Lukla is filled with stunning views of the Himalayan foothills, winding rivers and distant snow capped peaks. Known as the gateway to Everest, Lukla is home to the famous Hillary Tenzing Airport. The helicopter will stop here for refueling before continuing deeper into the Everest region.
